It is the largest County, geographically, in the Province of Ontario with one of the lowest populations. Geographically diverse, the County is home to clean lakes and rivers, abundant wildlife, picturesque, rugged scenery and a unique and diverse population. Many Renfrew County residents are descendants of the hardy Pioneers who opened up, and subsequently settled this area.
