2001 population: 78,815 (Source: Statistics Canada) "The Honeymoon Capital of North America" Niagara Falls is a city in the province of Ontario. It is on the Niagara River. One tradition claims the name Niagara is a Native American word for "thunder of water."

· Elgin · Clifton · Willoughby Township · Stamford · Drummondville · Chippawa
The current city was created through the 1970 amalgamation of Lincoln and Welland counties.
Three large hydroelectric generating plants began operating here around the Horseshoe Falls in the early 1900s.
Filming location for 1995 movie, "Canadian Bacon" and 2000 movie, "Blues Brothers" and 1941 movie, "49th Parallel"
