2001 population: 4,020 (Source: Statistics Canada) Golden is a town in the province of British Columbia. It is in the Columbia River valley. In response to booming Silver City, jealous residents renamed their town Golden City. The "city" was later dropped.

The town incorporated in 1957.
Filming location for 1997 movie, "The Edge"
Well-known residents have included:
· Sara Renner, 2006 Olympics silver medal winner (cross country skiing - team sprint)
