2001 population: 963 (Source: Statistics Canada) "Polar Bear Capital of the World" Churchill is a town in the province of Manitoba. It is at the mouth of the Churchill River. The community was named for Fort Churchill, which was named for John Churchill, the duke of Marlborough.
