The neighbourhood probably takes its name from an area hotel, the Bedford Park Hotel, which was established in the late-19th century.
Former and merged community names include:
· North Toronto
The community is roughly bounded by Deloraine Avenue, Snowdon Avenue, Ronan Avenue, Lawrence Avenue, and Avenue Road.
The three villages of Bedford Park, Davisville, and Eglinton merged, in 1890, to form the town of North Toronto.
