2001 population: 45,986 (Source: Statistics Canada) Belleville is a city in Hastings County, in the province of Ontario. It is on the Bay of Quinte and the Moira River. One tradition says this community was named for Lady Arabella Gore, the wife of Lieutenant-Governor Francis Gore.
