2001 population: 7,604 (Source: Statistics Canada) Goderich is a town in Huron County, in the province of Ontario. It is on Lake Huron, at the mouth of the Maitland River. The town was named for the Viscount Goderich.
Goderich was established in 1827 as a commercial center in the Huron Tract, which was opened to colonization in the 1820s.
The town "square" is actually octagonal.
