2001 population: 106,170 (Source: Statistics Canada) "The Main Street of Ontario" Guelph is a city in Wellington County, in the province of Ontario. It is on the Speed River. The city was named for George III's ancestral family.
The city was founded in 1827 by Scottish novelist John Galt.
