Waterton park, Pincher Creek, Fort MacLeod, Cardston and the Montana border) we have excellent entrepreneurial characters (ie. stain glass, artists, hunting interests, fishing, camping such as the Great Canadian Barn Dance), a very active Grocery/Gift store (small but mighty) and a Post Office. Seeing is believing!

Pluses: My mother Marcellina Fitzpatrick is from Lord's Cove and lives in New York. The pluses are I get to travel there every few years see the family absolutely wonderful scenery but most of all a hard working loving community.

Minuses: It is a far long tiring trip from Cleveland Ohio and that is what keeps me from traveling there more often.

A great place to... It is a great place to bring your family and breath fresh air and see the country side in a whole different light. The head is spectacular to look over the water, the wharf is a wonderful place that you can sit and remember when your grandfather used to fish to make his living and a great deal still do.

Pluses: Brantford can be a great place to live and raise a family. Its not large enough to be classified as "city living" but in the last 15 years Brantford is growing/expanding into its own unique city with a smaller town feel. The University and revitalization Finally ;-) of the downtown core is proving to be a success for the city of Brantford. A plan to revitalize Brantford has proven to be a moral boost for the population of Brantford whom was hurting with the massive lay offs/closures of its Major companies such as Massey Ferguson and more. There is many new attractions not only the citizens of Brantford but for those whom reside outside the area. The Sanderson Center offers great popular attractions and concerts year around, many fine dining /casual establishments, Plus Brantford seems to be the Tim Horton Capital of Canada ;-) with a 'Tims' on every block so it seems. Least not Forget this is Wayne Gretzkey home town with his gracious family still residing amoung our midst.

Minuses: Brantford was an area that seemed to be stuck in a 'depressed state' that climaxed aprox 20 yrs ago as many large companies closed its doors which saw many people on the unemployment line, many for the 1st time in a decade or longer. This today is improving due thanks to many diverse buisnesses that have arrived and has recharged the work force yet again. I noticed a few things that need improving or changed entirely.The transit service mon-fri with half hr schedules is not enough. People need the transit to coinside with thier work schedules Not the transit schedule (A 15 min schedule esp with expansion growth in Brantford needs to be implemented) Buisness's that 'abandon' strip malls, factories or any other place of buisness needs to be dealt with by city council and not to be left with what seems thier hands tied by 'red tape' as these abanonded buildings is a eye sore and a mark against the revitalization plans that are going forward and being accomplished by current city council.

A great place to... Raise a Family as the revitalization and growth is moving forward at a steady increasing pace. A 'smaller version' of city life without the hard crime that plagues bigger communities and cities. There is many opppertunites for employment and education with the ever expanding university and college that bring not only more students and revenue to Brantford but a healthly diverse increase in population. For those seeking entertainment Brantford has many attractions from concerts/theater (Sanderson center) to seeing a movie at the cinema, eating fine dining to casual eating establishments such as Caseys Montana's the Keg Kelseys Casa Mamas ect Al Dente Pasta fine dining is to die for ;-) -- Many popular night clubs. The community aspect is a very important one for many and I think Brantford has a reputation for good hospitality and community spirit , this I have enjoyed throughout the many years I have been in Brantford(born Toronto/lived in Mississauga prior to moving to Brantford)

The people around us are there if you want to spend time with them, they are friendly enough but they do give you your space.

Other info: I was last here a while back. But I must say I never forget. My mother s madane name is Lucille Cecellia Zarowny.She married my father Joseph prokop in Kryder. My grandmother had a house at the end of town with a very large garden. I loved to walk up town and go see Auntie at the cafe. I remember the hotel across the road. I was young then but I do remember. Im 48 now. But I d luv to come back. Mom took us to see the big house they grewup in. Dad just had a small 2 room . I guess back in those days you did what you did to build a farm and a homestead. I hope to here from you soon.
